My flower journey began in the fall of 2018 when I took my first floral design class at the New York Botanical Garden. I was hooked from the beginning, finally feeling like I had found the perfect medium for my need to create something of beauty for myself that can easily be shared with others.
Rhonda Malhotra, owner
After leaving a full-time career in sales and marketing, in the book publishing world to raise our daughter, I went down several different paths, (preschool education, and interior design) that finally led me to flower arranging.
I feel like flowers have always been a part of my life. My maternal great grandfather was an orchid grower in Ohio. I have vague memories of his hot house and orchids at special family occasions. My paternal grandmother had beautiful flower gardens in Wisconsin. While I was growing up, there were always lilacs for dance recitals, lilies for summer bouquets and she would send me off to college in the fall with armfuls of zinnia. And then, once I became a mother, my daughter and I loved to help out in my step mother's floral shop on our visits back to Wisconsin.
It was with them in mind that I took my first class at the New York Botanical in the fall of 2018 and things organically fell into place, leading me to here.
My biggest wish is to share and showcase the natural beauty of flowers by creating unique individual arrangements that will bring the recipients days of joy.
